Basketball fans in eight African countries—Botswana, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, and the United Republic of Tanzania—will benefit from a new marketing collaboration between NBA Africa and KFC Africa.

As part of the partnership between KFC Africa and NBA Africa, limited-edition KFC x NBA product campaigns, limited-edition merchandise giveaways, and limited KFC x NBA promotions will be launched, including a chance for basketball fans to win tickets to live NBA games in the United States and complimentary access to NBA League Pass. The promotion specifics will be released at a later date.

“It is an honor to join forces with one of the most iconic sports brands in the world,” KFC Marketing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, Emmanuel Kasambala stated. ” Since our brand has been active on the continent for 50 years, we are committed to building relationships with young people at places where they feel most at home”

“Our long-term goal is to use basketball as a vehicle to encourage young people to strive for greater heights in their personal and professional lives. We’re looking into a variety of grassroots basketball activities, such as the renovation of courts and the establishment of community basketball clinics. It’s about motivating and empowering the next generation to pursue their goals and realize their potential”

“We are excited to partner with KFC Africa to launch a series of fan-centric activities and promotions as part of our efforts to provide compelling ways for basketball fans across the continent to engage with the NBA,” said NBA Africa CEO Victor Williams.  “We want to meet our fans where they are and make the game of basketball more accessible, and through this partnership with one of the world’s most iconic food brands, we look forward to reaching new and existing fans and providing them with more opportunities to experience the NBA.”
