Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) has announced the donation of Mercedes-Benz Vans to charitable organizations interested in education, community upliftment, sport for development, and environmental sustainability in order to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
Andreas Brand, Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-South Africa and Executive Director of Manufacturing, commented on the donation, saying, “Beyond our core business activities, we are committed to corporate social responsibility and take pride in making tangible contributions in our communities.” Today’s contribution illustrates our commitment to using our resources to empower non-profits to be agents of constructive social change.”
The donated automobiles will help nonprofit organizations with transportation, educational resources, and extracurricular activities, as well as provide easier access to communities and beneficiaries across their scope of operations. Kid Links Small Farm Incubator, Land of the Living, African Angels Independent School, Rally to Read, Waves for Change, Border Cricket, and Sporting Chance are among the worthy recipients of this grant. These organizations, among others, correspond to the MBSA’s corporate social responsibility focus areas of education, community upliftment, youth empowerment, sport for development, and environmental sustainability.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Mercedes-Benz South Africa for its generous contribution to our cause and commitment to making a difference in the community.” The difference and value this will bring to our program will be felt for a long time,” said Lou Billet, Founder and Chairperson of the African Angels Independent School.
