The biggest car rental company in the world, Enterprise Holdings, has announced that the Woodford Group will open more franchise locations in South Africa. These locations will offer car rental options from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent-A-Car. Enterprise Holdings brands will be delivered in South Africa for the first time.

The Woodford Group offers a range of automotive sector product offerings, including complete logistic solutions, an online vehicle auction platform, and Woodford Automobile Hire, South Africa’s biggest independent car rental firm and the brand’s cornerstone. The firm has aggressively invested in technology to automate and streamline client interactions, and it has established a market reputation for innovation and disruption. Woodford has also been identified with great customer service, and it is the country’s highest-rated vehicle rental company across all review sites.

“At Enterprise, we want to collaborate with local suppliers that have a solid reputation for customer service excellence,” stated Jon Flansburg, Assistant Vice President of Global Franchising – EMEA at Enterprise Holdings. “Our new South African partner has always placed a premium on providing personalized service, and its investment in technology and wide range of cars will offer the greatest possible experience for our clients.”

Woodford Group will service Enterprise Holdings brands at important South African sites such as Cape Town International Airport, OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, King Shaka International Airport in Durban, and four inner-city outlets around the country.

“The Woodford Group has always been regarded as a forerunner in the local car rental industry, therefore we’re delighted to join forces with a worldwide pioneer like Enterprise, with whom we know we share shared aims and principles that will usher us into a new age,” said Group CEO Mohamed Owais Suleman.

Woodford Group is a family-owned business that is a significant provider of mobility solutions in the South African market. This fits with Enterprise’s plan to become the world’s best and most trusted provider of mobility solutions. The company was started in 1991 so that regular South Africans could rent cars from a reliable company at a good price.

Enterprise Holdings, founded in 1957, manages a network of almost 10,000 neighborhood and airport rental facilities in more than 90 countries and territories worldwide. Enterprise has undertaken an ambitious worldwide expansion strategy since 2012, significantly extending its international reach through franchise partners.

Over the last ten years, the firm has enjoyed significant expansion throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with operations in 51 nations and territories, up from only three ten years ago. Enterprise entered Africa for the first time in 2019 with operations in Egypt, and earlier this year revealed ambitions to expand into Morocco.

Enterprise has had long-term success by focusing on great customer service and building many high-performing business lines and mobility solutions for its clients, as well as by growing in a big way around the world.
