Avanti Communications has announced the establishment of a new headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos. Avanti’s new headquarters will serve as a center for employees across the continent, as the company with the highest throughput in Africa. The Heritage Place office is Nigeria’s first ecologically certified commercial building, located in Ikoyi, the commercial zone that is home to global technology giants including as Oracle and Google. Avanti’s new headquarters in Africa demonstrates the company’s commitment to the continent. Avanti intends to accelerate growth across the area through local partnerships and the deployment of connectivity solutions, with the goal of Africa becoming the company’s primary income source within the next two to three years. “This is a big moment for us at Avanti and something we have been looking forward to for some time,” Avanti COO Libby Barr said. Africa is a priority for us, and this new office will allow us to continue building partnerships on the ground and connecting even more communities. We presently have 20 workers in Nigeria and expect that number to rise substantially as we continue to roll out connection in the region at a rapid rate. We are thrilled to be neighbors with some of Nigeria’s top enterprises, and we see this new office as a tremendous chance to realize the full potential of what Nigeria has to offer.” Avanti has already invested over $800 million in Africa and has an expanding footprint across the continent. More than one-fifth of the company’s employees work in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. Avanti has connected over 1,000 communities and schools in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Senegal, Ghana, Angola, Côte d’ivoire, Cameroon, and South Sudan to date. Over the next five years, the company intends to connect a further 10,000 sites across Africa, affecting millions of lives and allowing communities to live more connected lives.
